Stake Helping Hands Project . . . Saturday in the Park

Last weekend we participated in a Stake Helping Hands Project . . . Saturday in the Park. This was a multi-state activity in conjunction with National Parks Week. We went to Rickets Glen Park near Benton, Pennsylvania. It was a beautiful park and it looks much better after over 400 volunteers spent the morning cleaning, planting, painting, etc.

Beautiful weather and a great day to be of service.

We are making progress now.

Zone Training April 2013

Note: This entry is mainly for the parents of these missionaries. There were so many pictures and emailing would have involved many emails of a few pictures each. For those of you reading this that are not parents, if you are not interested in viewing this post, just click on the next post title under “recent posts”.

We have great Zone Leaders and we had a wonderful Zone Training Meeting. We are amazed at the talent and spirituality of our missionaries in our mission but especially in our zone.

I took LOTS of pictures. I tried to keep them candid but of course the Elders have a sixth sense to know when the camera is on them so some shots are more candid than others, depending on how quickly I could capture the shot and how sneaky I was!

Mission Update and Special Sacrament Meeting

Today in Sacrament meeting the Temple President of the Washington D.C. Temple and his wife came and spoke in our Branch. The Stake President of the Williamsport Stake was also present. We had 73 in attendance which was the highest so far for 2013.

Prior to the Sacrament meeting we met briefly with President Hoffman, the Stake President, about activity in our Branch. As a result of that conversation and previous conversations with the Mission President, we accepted the invitation to extend our mission into September of 2013. There was surprise and excitement in the congregation when President Brown, the Branch President, announced that we would be staying until into September. We look forward to continuing to serve in this area.

The Temple President shared the “Parable of the Keys” in his talk. We found a version of the parable on “youtube” to share with you. We hope you enjoy it.

Baptisms and a Linger Longer

Today was a busy and happy day. We had two baptisms. A sweet sister and her granddaughter were baptized today.

After a wonderful General Conference we met for District Meeting and interviews with President Topham. It is always great to have Sister Topham there with us too. She got the Elders busy shining their shoes.
